My Story…

I’m Esther-an 18 year old youth advocate (and also a long distance trail runner) living in Central Australia. I started my advocacy journey in 2024 after watching young people feel increasingly more unsafe in their community due to systemic discrimination, alienation and also other issues, like Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence. I now serve on NAPCAN’s National Youth Speak Out, because it aligns with my values and my own work. To me, it’s important to ensure that everyone gets the opportunity to grow up in a safe, supportive home, so I’m really inspired by programs like Love Bites which work towards making this a reality through education and support.

Description

Help give young Australians access to healthy relationship education.

During the 2026 Broken Hill to Sydney Team Chase, 100% of donations made via registration and fundraising pages will go directly to NAPCAN, funding facilitator training, program adaptations, and the implementation of program delivery systems. Donations over $2 are 100% tax-deductible.

Run Against Violence has partnered with the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN) to ensure that every Australian teenager has access to high-quality, respectful relationship education.

Love Bites is Australia’s premier program, and over the past six years, Run Against Violence has invested $565,000 in its national expansion. This is the largest investment by a non-government entity in the program's history. As a result of this investment, 1,068 program facilitators have been trained across 360 local government areas in Australia, with 60% located in regional, rural, and remote communities.
