My Story…
For the past 10 years, Mums of the Hills has been working to reduce the social isolation experienced by mums in and around the Yarra Ranges. But for those living with partner violence, isolation isn’t just accidental — it’s often deliberate. Perpetrators frequently use control and isolation to cut their partners off from friends, family, and community networks. This leaves people without safe connections, limits their access to help, and increases their vulnerability.
Recently our community was reminded that it isn’t immune to partner violence with the devastating murder of a woman at the hands of an individual known to her. As a result, Mums of the Hills has collaborated with Single Mums of the Hills and Mountain Men on a joint statement calling our community to say, ENOUGH. This has to end.
Support us in raising funds for LoveBites and join us on our run to start conversations about partner violence. Together, let's raise awareness in our community.
Description
Help give young Australians access to healthy relationship education.
During the 2025 RAV Virtual Team Challenge, 100% of donations made via registration and fundraising pages will go directly to NAPCAN, funding facilitator training, program adaptations, and the implementation of program delivery systems. Donations over $2 are 100% tax-deductible.
Run Against Violence has partnered with the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN) to ensure that every Australian teenager has access to high-quality, respectful relationship education.
Love Bites is Australia’s premier program, and over the past five years, Run Against Violence has invested $500,000 in its national expansion. This is the largest investment by a non-government entity in the program's history. As a result of this investment, 1,068 program facilitators have been trained across 360 local government areas in Australia, with 70% located in regional, rural, and remote communities.
